A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to force a decider.

He saved 4 initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
